My name is Jennifer Schneider and I've been teaching for 22 years. I've been at Northlake Woods for 15years teaching grade 4 or 5. In the past I've taught grade 7 math, high school English, grade 2 and grade 6; however, grade 4 or 5 is where my heart is! It's pretty amazing spending your day with young people who are playful, positive, perceptive and inquisitive.
I enjoy playing tennis, baking and reading. I'm a big fan of music, dance, theatre and movies.
I have two children (a 14 year old girl and a 18 year old boy) who keep me really busy. We enjoy reading, movies, board games, soccer, hiking, travelling and just being silly. Here's the proof:
My goals in the classroom have always been to create a rich and purposeful learning environment that fosters inclusivity, creativity and engagement. I work hard to keep parents informed of student progress and classroom activities. I also put a great deal of importance on providing students with feedback. I expect the students to work hard and be respectful each day. I am thrilled when students reap the benefits of their efforts and I love hearing students share their unique perspectives. Last but not least, one of my favourite sounds in the classroom is laughter. We will be challenged and driven, but we'll have fun along the way!
